Project Description
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
After 45 years, the existing O’Neil Pool had outlived its operational expectancy by 20 years and had to be demolished. The Pool was an essential asset for the City of Bloomington and was replaced with a new state-of-the-art Pool. To ensure the public’s voice was heard, the City of Bloomington, with the Williams Architects / Aquatics team, conducted an intensive 1-day charrette to understand and gather public input and develop concept plan options. The new facility includes a new bathhouse, filter building, 8-lane lap/diving pool, activity pool with zero-edge, lazy river, plunge pool, water slide tower, and concessions deck.
In addition to the Pool, O’Neil Park has several new amenities, including a new spray park and skate park.
