PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This outdoor spray play includes a 2,500-square-foot pavilion with toilets, picnic area and vending machines. Amenities include tot and youth water play areas (each 1,500 square feet), sand play, volleyball courts, shade structures and sun hill. The site is terraced on several levels with retaining walls to accommodate the sloping site. Ornamental stairs connect the outdoor spray play to the existing pool; and a support/control building with toilet rooms and a covered picnic area is included. The Project was financed, in part, with funds from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources’ Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development Program.
