Project Description

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Having just completed the Library Journal Five-Star Arlington Heights Memorial Library’s transformational Makerplace facility – the only standalone library makerspace building in the country – Williams was engaged to prepare a master plan for remodeling and improvement to Kids’ World, a 23,000 SF youth services department for one of the country’s busiest library buildings. Our master plan considered developmental flow, community needs, and existing conditions assessment to develop a phased remodeling plan for the department that will allow the space to be continuously occupied and operated during construction. Following completion of the Master Plan in December 2021, Williams was immediately engaged for implementation of Phase 1 of the Master Plan. Construction on this Phase completed in the Winter of 2023.
