PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The new Cosley Zoo Bobcat Exhibit is home to two 10-year-old bobcats, Salvatore and Valentino. They came to Wheaton in August from a humane society in California.
To welcome the bobcats, Williams Architects assisted Cosley Zoo with a brand new 1,000-square-foot exhibit complete with a 20-foot-high mesh enclosure, a waterfall and rocks and tree logs for the bobcats to climb. It was built entirely with grant money and donations.
The enclosure is designed to have a very natural look, including trees and rocks which are found in typical bobcat habitat. The exhibit provides a comfortable space for the cats as well as a unique and effective educational experience for the public.
